    New toy on the way

Being around other geeks is bad, sometimes. Over the weekend I went to the UKUUG Linux conference along with a fair number of the other UK Debian gang. I had a great time, although the conference clashed with the football so I missed some talks. I also saw Wookey and Luke using their TomTom sat-nav units. I couldn't resist the temptation for long, and I've just ordered one for myself too. The 510 looks like a good choice - small, runs Linux, and is apparently compatible with OpenTom.

No, sorry - I've not had the chance to play with it yet. I'll report on any success/failure as soon as I do... :-)

Just found this page on the 910 http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/insidetomtomgo910.php (scroll down). Haven't tried it yet as i'm not a linux wiz (and that would mean going out in the rain to get my tomtom from the car), but thought it might appreciate the link :)
